About

Forthelume

Forthelume is a fashion platform built for a generation of designers who create outside the traditional system. We give independent designers the tools to publish their clothing in both 2D and 3D, reach buyers directly, and produce only what sells — no inventory, no waste, no middlemen.

The platform is equal parts editorial gallery and working studio. Designers upload flat garment images alongside 3D models, write their own descriptions, set their own prices, and curate collections that tell the story of their practice. Buyers browse an editorial feed, explore a searchable ledger of every published piece, and discover designers through curated atelier profiles.

Who Forthelume Is For

For independent designers, Forthelume replaces the fragmented stack of portfolio sites, wholesale platforms, and social media storefronts with a single place to publish, present, and sell. Designers retain full creative control — there are no templates, no algorithmic curation, and no pressure to discount.

For fashion buyers— whether collectors, stylists, or anyone drawn to emerging design — Forthelume offers something rare: the ability to discover clothing that doesn't exist yet on any rack, try it on virtually before committing, and have it made to order.

Three Differentiators

3D garment uploads. Designers upload .glb files of their garments, which buyers can rotate, zoom, and inspect in full 3D directly in the browser. This bridges the gap between a flat photograph and holding a garment in your hands.

2D virtual try-on. Buyers upload a photo of themselves and see the garment rendered on their body. It is not a generic mannequin overlay — the try-on adapts to the buyer's pose, proportions, and lighting, giving a realistic sense of fit and drape before purchase.

On-demand manufacturing. Nothing is produced until a buyer commits. Forthelume connects each order to production — either through the designer's own workshop or through Forthelume's manufacturing partners. This eliminates deadstock and lets designers publish ambitious work without the financial risk of pre-production.

The Company

Forthelume was incorporated in June 2026 as Forthelume Private Limited, based in Gurgaon, India. The platform is designed and built by a small team that believes fashion technology should serve the designer's vision, not flatten it.

Design Philosophy

Every surface of Forthelume is editorial, not marketplace-generic. The warm-paper backgrounds, the Cormorant Garamond typography, the quiet chrome, the generous whitespace — these are deliberate choices to let each designer's work be the loudest thing in the room. We believe the platform should feel like a carefully curated journal, not a search-results page.
